The Tri Glide's Harley's first official trike

HERE'S THE first official Harley-Davidson trike - the Tri Glide. The three-wheeler will go on sale in North America next year.

Harley-Davidson America said it listened to what its customers wanted and decided to put the bike into production. Based on the Electra Extreme Glide Classic, the bike has a new chassis to cope with the extra weight. The back axle is similar to a cars and runs on two 205mm tyres. The bike comes with Sat Nav, cruise control and stereo. ABS is not currently available on the bike, although it may be introduced as an option later. The Tri Glide is fuel-injected and keeps the 6-speed gearbox. It also has an option of a reverse gear. Price in the states is $29,999 - there are currently no plans to bring the bike to Europe.

Big Nige

I quite like that.

I think it's stylish and well executed.

Bit pricey perhaps but then the Ultra Glide is $20,000 in the US and £17500 over here so if was ever brought here it would be about £22000 I suppose - bit steep for our pathetically conservative market.
