Thankful Villages Run

Charity ride to raise money for the Royal British Legion

NEXT week Medwyn Parry and Dougie Bancroft will set off from Ceredigion on a unique 2,500 mile journey across the UK onboard a pair of Triumph Trophy motorycles.

The pair will visit 51 'Thankful Villages' over a 9 day schedule, aiming to raise £51,000 for the Royal British Legion in the process.

Thankful Villages are villages with no First World War memorial, due to all their soldiers returning from the Great War alive. But despite returning safely, many of the soldiers who returned had witnessed the horrors of war were scarred mentally if not physically.

These villages are proud of their status and Medwyn and Dougie are looking forward to meeting the residents, where they will present a commemorative slate plaque and certificate in remembrance of their village's contribution during the Great War.

Bikers are welcome to join Medwyn and Dougie for any part of the journey but should expect to donate a minimum of £5 per day.
