Update on them dated 05/09/08 - in a nutshell Tasha's brother got 3 years and a further one year supervision order. He'll have an arse like a clown's pocket when he gets out
Sheriff Graham Buchanan, sentencing Westlake-Tritton, said: “An accident of some kind was inevitable and of course that is exactly how things turned out.”
Sheriff Buchanan accepted Hunter, 18, was a passenger and did not have control over the bike but said it was clear he was providing encouragement. He said a custodial sentence was inevitable in both cases.
Westlake-Tritton, 17, will serve two-and-a-half years in detention and will be monitored under a supervised release order for a year afterwards. He has also been disqualified from driving for five years. Hunter has been sentenced to two years in detention, with a subsequent 12-month supervised release order, and has been banned for three years.
Westlake-Tritton admitted the charges last month and Hunter was convicted after a trial soon afterwards.
Westlake-Tritton was also yesterday sentenced for breaking probation orders put in place in 2007.
He was given a further six-month sentence, increasing his detention to three years, and banned from driving for two years, which will run concurrently with his five-year ban.
