Teenagers to go on trial over parade mayhem

Hooligans accused of seriously injuring seven pedestrians in town-centre frenzy

TWO TEENAGERS charged with riding a stolen motorbike and injuring seven people in a collision with crowds at a charity parade in Aberdeen face trial later this month.

Lewis Westlake-Tritton and Graeme Hunter deny causing the mayhem which led to the cancellation of the annual Aberdeen Students’ torcher parade on April 26.

They appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday. Westlake-Tritton, 17, and Hunter, 18, who were described as prisoners in Aberdeen, are accused of stealing a motorbike at between April 23 and 26.

The indictment states that the teenagers culpably, recklessly and with utter disregard for the safety of others, rode the motorbike at excessive speeds, mounted footpaths, performed several wheelies and U-turns and drove through no entry signs and several red lights at traffic junctions.

They are also accused of kicking a stationary motorcyclist, kicking pedestrians, driving erratically and colliding with a vehicle, mounting a footpath and colliding with pedestrians.

They are accused of severely injuring Scott Gray, Lesley Gray and Paloma Gray in the collision, leaving Mr Gray permanently disfigured and impaired and Lesley Gray permanently disfigured.

Kirsten Finley, Alexander McNaughton, Margaret Gordon and Andrea Bryant were also hurt.

Westlake-Tritton is accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time.

As a provisional licence holder, he is also accused of carrying a passenger and not displaying L plates and driving without insurance.

The trial will start later this month.

Over to you, visordown - what's the verdict?

Mr Marv

+1 they dont deserve to be allowed out in public. They are abviously not capable of acting in a decent manner.

Again another case of Chav scum and the reason we should all carry bats to smack the lil fuckers with!

Arseholes, hope they get locked up and fucked sensless. I wonder what they will get? coz that biker got 15 months shoved up his arse for doing 130mph yesterday. They must be looking at between 4-6 years.

bluedimension

They need to be made an example of.

They are not bad motorcyclists giving biking a bad name they are thieves and criminals who should indeed be flogged - if only the courts could impose such a sentence.

Unfortunately there will be some who will use this incident to the detriment of all other decent bikers.

The biking media need to disown this pair of clowns and make some good pressout of bad.

I hope our justice system does the right thing with these theiving scum. If they don't get jail for a considirable length of time, who could blame the public for dishing out their own type of justice. Too many of these little twats who think they are above the law!

They were appearing in court from jail.  I think they're past the stage of all the second chances that young offenders get.

Family loyalty is all well and good, but if your brother wants not to be despised as scum, he'll have to behave a bit better.

ok, I'm going for

"hahahah bah

That there is my brother you are conversing about. Do you really consider it a fact that he went out of his way to hurt anyone? [something about Buckfast and vibrators] You can all go and jolly well  hang yourselves, masturbators. [something about loving signing on and purple cans of lager]"

taking into account that in the past few months "Bikers" have been put away for doing mega high speeds and not injuring anyone, id hope that these two wee wankers would get at least 5 years shoved up their arses. Pair of cunt's.

I think there are two choices here, either give them up to medical research ( they could be the missing link ) or send them to Helmand province where they can experience all the fun of the fair. I'm suspecting " Trisha " is an alias attempting to be humorous but in case they aren't, I'm a Gray too and while I wouldn't sanction the name Paloma for a child, I would certainly sanction coming up to the other province and beating you to death with your own shoes, you filthy scum.

Hey slag, here's a nice picture of you explained for those of us with a brain.

Btw, your brother is taking it up the shitter from a proper criminal. They like a bit of teenage starfish

Update on them dated 05/09/08 - in a nutshell Tasha's brother got 3 years and a further one year supervision order. He'll have an arse like a clown's pocket when he gets out

Sheriff Graham Buchanan, sentencing Westlake-Tritton, said: “An accident of some kind was inevitable and of course that is exactly how things turned out.”

Sheriff Buchanan accepted Hunter, 18, was a passenger and did not have control over the bike but said it was clear he was providing encouragement. He said a custodial sentence was inevitable in both cases.

Westlake-Tritton, 17, will serve two-and-a-half years in detention and will be monitored under a supervised release order for a year afterwards. He has also been disqualified from driving for five years. Hunter has been sentenced to two years in detention, with a subsequent 12-month supervised release order, and has been banned for three years.

Westlake-Tritton admitted the charges last month and Hunter was convicted after a trial soon afterwards.

Westlake-Tritton was also yesterday sentenced for breaking probation orders put in place in 2007.

He was given a further six-month sentence, increasing his detention to three years, and banned from driving for two years, which will run concurrently with his five-year ban.
