Steve Ramon, winning at Weston, we think...

Suzuki celebrated in the sun yesterday as newly crowned World MX1 champion Steve Ramon, took the win at the annual Weston-super-Mare beach race, held in Somerset.

Seeing a huge line-up turn out to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary event, Ramon on his Suzuki RM-Z450 dominated the three-hour race almost from the start, taking a healthy lead before the race was red-flagged in its final hour.

With the Relentless Youth Academy in attendance, rider Luke Dean finished fifth overall on his RM85 in the youth class with Tim Truman bringing it home in a solid 22nd place in the adult class.

With a strong Suzuki entry, Suzuki GB was on-hand throughout the weekend awarding trophies to the highest placed Suzuki finishers in each category.

Amongst the non-finishers was Relentless Suzuki's Jamie Law who was forced to retire from the event after a hose blew off the engine cylinder while lying in an impressive sixth place and Maximum Solutions Suzuki's Paul Edmondson who DNF'd after gating first off the line before retiring later on.
