Stolen four-ton Harley statue update
Artists reclaims bronze sculpture after dealer files for bankruptcy
A FOUR-TON motorcycle statue believed to have been stolen from outside a US Harley-Davidson dealers has turned up safe and sound. Well, almost
Earlier this week, Visordown brought you the news surrounding the theft of a $100,000 bronze statue from outside Timpanogos Harley-Davidson dealers, in the USA.
Police have now confirmed the statue, entitled 'Land Speed' was removed from the troubled Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership by its creator, Jeff Decker.
"The statue has been located. It is in the possession of the artist who created it. This appears to be a civil situation in that the artist has provided us with a 'loan agreement' in which he agrees that Timp Harley can display the statue but that it remained his," Police said.
However the Harley dealer has filed for bankruptcy and has listed the sculpture as a business asset. It's reported the dealer owns the granite block the statue's situated upon, while the bronze sculpture remains the property of the artist.
Police say the two men are now looking on how to safely separate the 4-ton object.
