Spy shots - Ducati Hyperstrada

Lathered in bin bags and ridden by Paul Daniels - check the latest undercover offering from the guys in Bologna

We reckon he'll have trouble touching the floor

HERE'S THE latest picture of the 2010 Ducati replacement for the Multistrada, snapped outside the factory in Bologna.

Details over whether the liquid-cooled bike is actually a 1098 or 1198 motor are still scarce, but at least from this new shot we can see that the styling of the bike is still undergoing changes. The new Ducati will almost certainly get the firm's traction control system currently fitted as standard to the 1198S Superbike - but don't go thinking that this is going to be an all-Italian GS beater. The huge road tyres and sumptuous seat all point to a road bike and nothing else.

Think of the 'Hyperstrada' as an all-Italian version of the Triumph Tiger.

But look at the size of the thing! Either this is one BIIIIIIIG bike or wee Jimmy Krankie has given up the stage work for a new life testing for Ducati.

The bike will be launched in Milan at the end of this year, it'll go on sale early 2010.

I really can't imagine that that bike is going to be in any way competitive with the Beemer R1200GS.  Just don't see it happenin'.

For the folks who just gotta have a Duc, they'll have something to buy/ride.  Otherwise, no sale.

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
