HOLLYWOOD MOVIE legend-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has called for a massive speed camera initiative to help generate the $19.9 billion (£12.5 billion) budget shortfall in the US State's economy.
Speaking at a news conference yesterday, motorcycle-loving Arnie declared he hoped the camera initiative would generate at least $397.5 million (£255.8 million) in net profit to state and local government.
"Various federal rules are tying our hands and preventing us from reducing costs in some state programs," Schwarzenegger explained at a news conference yesterday. "I want to remind the federal judges and the politicians California is not Washington. We do not have the luxury of printing money or running trillion-dollar deficits."
