Red Ken Livingstone's got it wrong (again)

German car manufacturer takes legal action against Mayor's flawed congestion charge plan

Posted: 11 April 2008
by Visordown News

GERMAN CAR manufacturer Porsche has officially challenged Mayor of London Ken Livingstone's £25 congestion charge by issuing its case in the High Court of Justice.

Porsche believe the increase of the congestion charge from £8 a day, or £0.80 for residents, to £25 is both unfair and disproportionate and argues the charge will increase congestion and reduce London's air quality.

A TfL-commissioned report has shown the new £25 C-Charge will increase CO2 by 182,000 tonnes. According to the carmaker the findings of the King’s College research on CO2 were never revealed and only part of the report was released by TfL.

Porsche said the reason for the increase in CO2 was motorists would be forced to drive longer distances outside the Congestion Zone as a result of the new charge.

All figures previously publicly released by TfL with regard to the impact of the new charge on CO2 emissions, including during the consultation process, related only to the position within the congestion charge zone, it added.

The King’s report shows that should mayor Ken Livingstone’s proposal go ahead there will be an increase in CO2 emitted in Greater London in each year from 2009.

By 2012, research shows in Outer London the increase in CO2 will be nearly 184,000 tonnes, with just 2,200 tonnes saved in Central London giving a net increase of 182,000 tonnes.

Is Livingstone living in cloud cuckoo land? What do you think?

Has this reduced any traffic jams or increased the use of public transport? If not, surely its a clear indication of a failed policy and one which is only raising revenue for the council, and must be challenged. They tried that shit in Edinburgh and the public kicked it out.

It's just money grabbing, if it's bad for the enviroment they'll stop it all together, not charge for it, how does that help?

Speedy.
I cant wait to vote against him soon, I hate Ken Livingston, cunt of cunts.  I remember when he wanted a statue up of that south African terrorist, that really boiled my piss.

How come London has this all-powerful mayor, we do all right up here without one.

And if everyone hates him so much, why does he keep getting elected?

If he wins over the ethnic vote in London, then that's 99% of the electorate sorted

I don't think he is a racist he just like his job and likes his wages and will do anything to keep it.

I think he leans more towards the muslims and Africans, it really makes me sick just looking at him, boy would I love to see him go to Iraq on a visit and get kidnapped and beheaded by Jihadists on camera.

Coalmine

Typical Ken, I agree with the "he's a c*nt" comment.

Posted: 12/04/2008 18:11

Cappo

Agree 100% with all the ethnic etc comments made above - that's the only reason he's still there.  I think at the start people thought they might get a new breath of fresh air but he's turned into a bloody autocrat who believes he can do exactly as he pleases without further reference or consideration.

Ref the £25 Congestion Charge - I very very much doubt that anyone could prove that Band G cars increase congestion.  Pollution - sure, but this is called the Congestion Charge, not the Anti-Pollution charge (or tax).  I'm no lawyer but surely the law which allowed the original introduction of the CC must have stated the reason and original intention of the charge (fat lot of fcuking good it did anyway) and on that basis it must be up for a challenge.

Further aside - although Boris might just be edging the polls at the moment, I fear it's unlikely that such a clown will actually get elected (although I pray I'm wrong) and I wonder why on earth the Tories didn't put someone a tad more credible up to try and unseat the trotskyist twat?

Kens motto (with thanks to George Orwell)

1) Whatever goes up on 4 wheels is the enemy.

2) Whatever has 2 wheels and no engine is a friend.

3) No drivers shall do so freely.

4) No vehicle shall remain within the M25

5) No vehicle shall pollute, if it does then it shall pay more

6) No vehicle shall be good enough to avoid paying the CC.

7) All vehicles are equal, but some shall be more expensive on the CC than others

Dont worry ken its not personal im sure....

 all politicians are cunts.

Posted: 13/04/2008 12:25

alandoug

The guy doesn't even have a driving license.

What do you expect?

He spent millons setting up the low emission zone for trucks, hoping to collect millions+ in revenue. In a recent purge all the trucks they stopped that I saw were compliant (I'm a truck driver & got caught in it), the rest of Euope give transport companies concessions to run "green" trucks. Most of Europe goes to Euro 5 emissions for this reason.

Its no great surprise he wants this charge in force, he needs to pay all the extortionate wages for him & his "staff".

He is indeed a total runt.

steviebaby1000
When will this idiot get voted out..... he has no idea... i dont live in London but wouldent go there if i had to pay £25, i think the £8 charge is too much......and the bus lane thing, well like i said he's an idiot......

Lets get back to the real issue..........THE MAN IS A CUNT! an egotistical one at that.

Should go live in Zimbabwe, he'd feel right at home!

I hate him.

Why can't bikes use the bus lane?

Fucker.

further more anyone who sleeps with newts cant be all bad can he??
Posted: 19/04/2008 08:36

SuzukiBoy

It seems to me he enjoys making peoples lives as difficult as possible without valid reasons. That's what useless cunts do. Example: Why on earth can't we ride in the fucking bus lane? Why can't he do the world a huge favor and play chicken on a motorway with his eyes closed? Good for nothing absolute fucking pain in the arse is the best way to describe him.

Ken,
North Korea is beckoning, if the CC went to sending the commie bastard 1st class, one way to Punani - Punani, or whatever the capital of N.Korea is this week, you can be sure it would be embraced whole heartily.

If Boris is prepared to think about bikes in bus lanes then I'm all for Boris. The city needs transport, if Ken is trying to edge that out, he'll go first.
Posted: 29/04/2008 12:54

Dutch

What happened to the good old seventies, where if a politician was as crap as Ken, some nutjob would assassinate him from a grassy knoll.

C'mon psychopathic loons. Where are you when we need you?

Posted: 29/04/2008 12:59

AC

Boris has made a statement that he would allow bikes to use bus lanes.

Even if he hadn't I'd rather have him win that keep that twat in the office.

You kow, I don't think I know anyone or have ever meet anyone who doesn't think he is a complete nut case.
