Kiyo entertains the crowds
DESPITE MONSOON conditions, over 100,000 spectators packed into Northwich to see this year's Thundersprint.
Fastest time of the day went to Irish Road Race Champion Gary Jamison with an incredible time of 24.54 seconds. Not the fastest ever lap at the Thundersprint but one which was incredible in the horrendous conditions.
Graeme Hardy's Shuttleworth Snap
James May posted one of the day's slower times
Rain did nothing to slow Spanish rider Pepin Millan
Thundersprint organiser, Frank Melling said: "Everyone from race and cavalcade entrants to traders and spectators thought that this was the best Thundersprint ever - certainly until the heavens opened in the afternoon. We had no serious accidents on the track and no incidents away from it. Overall, a great credit to everyone involved with the event. I also want to offer a special thanks to the tens of thousands of spectators who stayed on right until the last race braving what were truly horrendous conditions. Thundersprint fans are the best in the world and Northwich is truly the home of the Thundersprint.

I went with my son. Had a fab day out despite the rain. Some of the bikes were just incredible and it was good to meet the the stars, especially Jim Redman who is a perfect gentleman.
Thanks to all involved for a fantastic free day out. We were biking heaven:burnout:

It was a good day although i was stood on track until the last bike crossed the line, even though it rained stair rods that day it always entertains.
I am the official photographer for the sprint and i enjoy going there, not just to take the photographs which you can see in the reports but just to enjoy the old atmosphere from some of the most dedicated riders in the world IMHO.
See you all there next year,Ride Safe Blue2
