Queen Latifah injured in motorcycle accident

Former singer and Hollywood star trashes bike on holiday jaunt

FORMER RAP star and Hollywood actress Queen Latifah has been injured in a motorcycle accident while on vacation in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The Enquirer reports Latifah rented a scooter and was touring the scenic countryside earlier this week when she lost control of the bike.

A source tells the tabloid, “She’s lucky she wasn’t killed. Fortunately, there weren’t any cars or other scooters behind her when the accident occurred.” The extent of Latifah’s injuries are not known.

Ever since the Queen’s beloved policeman brother, Lance was killed in a freak motorcycle accident in 1992, she has tempted her own fate repeatedly.

In his memory, Latifah formed the nonprofit Lancelot H. Owens Foundation to fund scholarships for children. “I’ll go to my brother’s grave,” she tells the New York Daily News, “sit next to him and…chat, and I’ll talk to God, and for some reason, I just come out of there totally rejuvenated.”
