ONE of the most iconic scooters of all time is going under the hammer in a high-priced auction.

Auction house Bonhams is selling the scooter rode by Jimmy Cooper in the cult movie Quadrophenia, complete with its move KRU 251F number plate.

The bike is a Lambretta Li 150 Series 3 scooter, originally dating from 1967. It is currently owned by dealer Allstyles from Portsmouth. Bonham's estimate that the scooter will fetch between £20,000 and £25,000. The auction is being hosted at the Knightsbridge branch on 25th November 2008.

"You killed my scoota!"

The really funny thing is that the riders of those ridiculous looking things were all hard boys.

MCN reported that it (or it's stunt double) went over the cliff at the end of the film. It was Stings GS that Jimmy had nicked that went over, brilliant film.

I sound like a right anorak, maybe not. This film defined a period in my life and still find the whole "Mod" thing kinda cool. Wouldn't ride one though, they look great but piece of shit, I'll stick with my R6. Was even disappointed when Phil Daniels sold out and joined Eastenders! All got to make a living I suppose, Parklife won't pay the bills forever. Still thinking about a young Lesley Ash (pre fish face) being taken up the back alley in Brighton. f'nar f'nar
