A QUAD-BIKE rider going for a spin in the Aussie bush was left fighting for his life after being struck by lightning at the weekend.
The rider, so far unnamed by the emergency services, is currenly being treated at the Toowoomba Base Hospital after the incident west of Brisbane.
An ambulance spokesman said that the 35-year-old man crashed his quad bike when he was hit clear in the chest by lightning near Toowoomba yesterday.
He was flown to hospital and is being treated for head and neck injuries and hypothermia.
