Police say no to biker festival

Cops fear revenge over M40 shooting at Rock and Blues Custom Show

by Visordown News

POLICE HAVE written to to South Derbyshire District Council objecting to a licence being granted for the The Rock and Blues Custom Show, as it could provide Hell's Angels with an opportunity to avenge the murder of Mottingham biker Gerry Tobin.

Mr Tobin was shot dead as he rode his motorbike along the M40 in Warwickshire on August 12 last year.

The 35-year-old mechanic, who worked at Warr's Harley-Davidson shop in Mottingham Road, was travelling with two other motorcyclists after leaving four-day biker festival the Bulldog Bash at Long Marston, Stratford-upon-Avon.

A decision on the premises licence will be made during a meeting of the council's licensing sub-committee on May 7.

Assistant Chief Constable Peter Goodman said: "Given the potential risks, we do not believe that the event organisers can adequately manage or police the event so as to ensure public safety either.

"We did consider the possibility of placing conditions on the licence to manage the risks to public safety.

"But based on the evidence which has now come to light, we believe there are no conditions which could be placed upon the licence which would, in the opinion of Derbyshire Constabulary, ensure the public would be safe."

Seven men charged with the murder of Mr Tobin will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on October 1.

FFS, I was really looking forward to the Bulldog bash.

If they got the people then why the fuck is there going to any recourse.

You know as well as anyone that just because the police have the blokes who may have done it, that doesn't mean there won't be some inter-gang fighting.  Hells Angels will loose face if they don't retaliate

I wouldn't like to say without hard evidence.  However if that were the case, and you can't rule it out, then I'd say theres every chance someone gets topped as a sign to others not to mess with them.

Sad really as it always gets really good reviews (never been there myself)

Its still going ahead though. the police can advise but the council will decide.

According to the Bulldog Bash website, it's still on weekend of 7 -10 August, usual venue. Derbyshire Police are objecting to the Rock & Blues Show in Derbyshire 24-27 July - if they're successful, are other forces going to try shutting down other events?

Thats what I rekon will happen, if the police object you can be pretty much assured that they will go for the bulldog bash next.

The man who pulled the trigger is in custody so it's over?

Far from it. Far far from it for a long long time yet.

If the Police say there's no feasible way it safely take place, there'll be a bloody good reason why.

They're not acting on 'If's But's and Maybe's'. They'll be acting on 'We WILL, and We're GOING TO's'.

I think they're right. Shame I have to say but they're not in the business of risking lives.

I think they are acting on a tip-off

The Hells angels know full well that if there was any trouble at one of their rallies then its going to out the death nail into the rallies coffin.

So no I dont think there will be any trouble.

It's Stratford District Council that get to decide NOT South Derbyshire Council as stated in the article...I wish these journo's would get their facts correct!

You really think thats enough to stop them getting revenge. Even if nothing happens they'll still say that it's going to just to close the Rock & Blues down. It hits the Outlaws where it really hurts............their wallets!

but everybody knows that wild freewheeling 'biker gangs' shoot arbitrarily chosen women and children when there aren't other gangs about! when they're not shooting families they're shooting crack (which is another word for cocaine)! also, did you know that a particular 'biker gang' once caught and ate a whole cub scout pack when they camped in the woods too near to one of their 'meets'? fact!

sometimes bikers listen to 'heavy metal' music and eat cars, they just gobble them all up

.........and funnily enough they found 1/4 of a ton of lead, four pedigree Staffies and 23carats of Moissanite between the lot of you. So it wasn't an entirely unsuccessful day.

Huw

The Bulldog bash is HA so why would they retaliate at their own bash?

I'm looking forward to the rock and blues, I hope they don't cancel that.

No but tit for tat bullshit will get both rallies close down, simple.

Strange I never knew the rock & blues was an outlaw do.

You know, I would pay good money to see a bunch of terrorists Vs a bunch of Hells Angels!
