Police hunt driver who fled crash that killed biker

Car abandoned after 5am London crash

POLICE are hunting a driver who fled the scene of an early-morning crash that killed a motorcyclist in London.

Emergency services were called at 4.58am yesterday following reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Holland Park.

Paramedics tried to revive the motorcyclist but he was pronounced dead at the scene, on St Anns Road.

A black Vauxhall Astra was abandoned at the scene and police believe the driver fled before they arrived.

A local resident told the Evening Standard: ‘I heard a bang and some commotion from about 5am. There were blue flashing lights and action around the area. It’s horrible.’

The woman added: ‘This happening right on our doorsteps is horrible. So sad.’
