No, it's not the Captain America chopper...
PETER FONDA earned himself an untouchable position in motorcycle lore by producing and starring in Easy Rider – but despite being indelibly linked to the stars-and-stripes 'Captain America' chopper his actual preferences were rather more to our taste.
Sure, it would be lovely to own a Captain America replica (the original was stolen before the movie was even finished) but you'd feel (and look) an idiot riding it and the handling and performance are presumably pitiful. No, for a really useful bit of Fonda memorabilia, how about this – his own MV Agusta F4 1000.
The 2005 bike would normally cost around £7k, but with Fonda's name on the logbook and his signature on the tank the estimate for this machine, being sold by Bonhams in Las Vegas today, is expected to take $16,000-$20,000 (£10k-£13K).
