A MOTORCYCLE was in collision with a pedestrian in Carlisle city centre earlier today.

Sources say the man, aged 29, was crossing Wigton Road when the incident happened. It's believed he suffered head injuries, although it's not clear whether his condition is serious.

Police said the incident took place near the junction with Peel Street at around 8:00am. Traffic was held up for around 20 minutes as paramedics administered treatment on the road.

The pedestrian and the motorcyclist, also a man from Carlisle, were both taken to the city's hospital for further treatment.

pedestrians are a liability. they just randomly walk in the road without looking - its called a road because its not a path!
