ONLY IN AMERICA: An off-duty New York City Policeman turned to his gun when he discovered tow men attempting to steal his motorcycle from outside his home.

NYC Police have not released the name of the officer who shot and wounded the suspected thief.

Reports form America say one suspect fled the scene, while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. The man who was shot is reported to be in a stable condition.

Police say there were no eyewitnesses and it's not clear what prompted the officer to fire.

The district attorney has opened an investigation into the incident.

"ONLY IN AMERICA" - You must be referring to that country that saved yours from obliteration in the last world war.

I guess if he was shot in the neck the officer was aiming for the head...wow. Killing someone for a bike...I mean a shot in the legs would have been extreme, but still a good lesson I guess, the guy recovers and thinks twice before stealing another bike. Killing someone for stealing a bike is simply insane...Not saying I encourage people to steal stuff, but I mean is a 10000$ bike worth killing someone for??!! There's a thing called insurances that cover your goods if they get stolen.

What has the second world war got to do with anything?

Posted: 16/11/2010 at 15:16

Only in America indeed.

Yeah, the Yanks first let loads and loads and loads of people get killed here during WWII. THEN, they saved us from obliteration alright, but only, ONLY, to protect themselves in the long run.

 *end of history lesson*

And the russians saved us by fending off nearly 100 divisions of wehrmacht and SS.  The US Army would have been obliterated.  Whats your point anyways?  Oh yeah, you dont have one.

Well,we all know a late entry is better than none at all but a belated thank you anyway.

It cost us our lead in the aircraft industry though we had to buy kit from you to make up the balance of paymentsAND  ,you had to ask the Uk for help in order to break the sound barrier etc

Still no hard feeleings, you actually make some good kit now

what by shooting most of us?

Posted: 16/11/2010 at 16:40

Do you need to know?
Although defeating the Natzi's in Europe, was a multinational effort we saved ourselves in the Battle Of Britain, with very little help from outside nations. Have to love EVERY Americans complete and undying believe in the "fact" they saved the “free world” single handed in World War 2 though Then of course we can’t forget the time the Americans saved the world again when Will Smith & that geeky bloke, heroically saved the world from a certain painful death by alien in that documentary, now taught in American schools “Independence Day.” (I believe they call the classes “media studies” while everyone else calls it, “bull shit”)Ironic really, the only time I feel like I’ve left the free world now is when I’m told I’m not aloud to make a joke about airport security in an American airport.

Bloody Yanks!

credit where its due.we did need the americans to save our necks in ww2,but only got the money after they asset stripped us(even sending a destroyer to s,africa to pick up £2m in gold we had stashed there) then LENT the rest at 2% over 60 years ! makes you wonder what would have happened if we had(and SO nearly did)go 'in' with hitler, maybe not as bad as you would think........?

answering my own post here, coventry would be still standing for one.russia would be german owned(thanks to our input/lack of a second front).although we would not be independant as we are now-oops scratch that-forgot about brussels,at least we would have a decent motorway network. the jewish thing is a bit awkward and doesn't come in as a plus point. america would not do a thing,it was borderline joining the war anyway, they certainly wouldn't with those odds. hey we'd all get cheap french villas and knock down labour rates on plastering/plumbing.... the list goes on

Trying to shoot someone in the head for a bike is simply a nut case. Im not saying I wouldnt have thought of shooting him in the legs to slow him down, but taking a life for a bike is ridiculous. I cant beleive what Im reading here.

one less would not be a tragedy.

personally i would have emptied the clip into the little pikey.

mobus you are a hero! serves the little cnut right.

dont mean to sound harsh but us bikers are passionate about our machines, we dote over them, pour cash into them, clean them every sunday, stare longingly at them in the garage. Dont fuck with another mans bike.

"ONLY IN AMERICA" - You must be referring to that country that saved yours from obliteration in the last world war

Was that the 1916-1918 or the 1942-1945 war, when you eventually turned up to join the rest of us?
