North West 200 Foggy Ducati for sale

Bonhams to sell two ex-Carl Fogarty Ducati Superbikes at The International Classic MotorCycle Show in Stafford on 24th April 2011

Even in black and white the eyes are scary.

Next month Bonhams will be auctioning two ex-Carl Fogarty bikes as part of their annual classic bike sale at the Stafford Classic Bike Show.

In 1993 Foggy rode this Ducati 888 Corse to victory in the North West 200 in the superbike class. Michael Rutter then campaigned the bike during the 1994 British Superbike Championship, finishing the season 6th overall.

John Hackett at Ducati Coventry rebuilt the 888 prior to the 2009 Ulster Grand Prix, where Carl rode the second of the two bikes up for grabs, a 1998 Ducati 916SPS 'Fogarty Replica'.  The latter is road registered and carries S3 FOG resitration number to celebrate the 3rd World Superbike Championship for Carl and Ducati.  Both bikes are fully authenticated by the Bologna factory, and come with plaques to prove.

How much? Bonhams reckon £26,000 - 30,000 for the 888 and £21,000 - £25,000 for the 916.
