No new GSX-R1000 in 2011 but 2012 model will be 'amazing'

Of course, 'they' would say it's going to be great. But we believe them.

Not the amazing 2012 model GSX-R1000

Suzuki isn't going to have its next-generation GSX-R1000 ready in time for the 2011 model year, but Japanese insiders have revealed that the next version – which will be launched in late 2011 as a 2012 model – is 'very, very amazing.'

Cross-plane crank? Traction control? Anti-wheelie? Launch control? ABS? We're not sure, but you can bet on it having more than a couple of them. They wouldn't be drawn on any further details.

In the meantime, you'll have to make do with the newly-released 25th anniversary version of the current GSX-R, although it's bronze and white paint-job looks like it's been inspired by a packet of mint humbugs...

It will be amazing looking at the fact that they are going built a machine that will dethrone the S1000rr and the zx10r.

Dethrone? What thrones do the S1000RR and ZX10R sit on currently exactly? Not much cop in racing and outrageously overpowered and unsuitable for the road.

Suzuki needs to up the ante with an R1 killer to regain its top spot, which in my books is still there in any case.Weight reduction with some technology thrown in will have to be the order of the day.Of course 215 hp at least to blast everyone else back into last year!!GO SUZUKI!!!
