B-King ... uses 2008 'Busa engineTHE FIRST official pictures and specifications have leaked out of Suzuki's 2008 model range, which includes a new Hayabusa, faired Bandit 650 and the final version of the B-King.
The Hayabusa gets a new 1340cc engine, which Suzuki claims has 11% more power than before, putting power at around a genuine 180bhp with torque 110lb.ft. Although expect quotes of 200bhp to appear in Suzuki marketing waffle.
Like the GSX-R1000 the 'Busa gets three different engine power settings while the aluminium chassis has been redesigned to improve the handling. Other new features include fully adjustable inverted forks with radial brakes, a lowered fuel tank to allow the rider to tuck in behind the higher screen and lowered sub-frame for passenger and rider comfort.
GSX650F ... costing around £5kThe GSX650F is basically a fully faired Bandit 650. The engine is identical to the current Bandit 650 while the fairing is, according to Suzuki, designed with cues from the GSX-R range. Expect it to be priced close to the £5000 mark.
And finally we have the B-King. The reason why Suzuki has been so tight-lipped about the B-King is because it uses the new 'Busa's engine, complete with three different power settings. Expect the power to be reduced somewhat from the 200bhp hyper-tourer, but it should still tank along quite nicely!
Visordown will be bringing you the rest of the Suzuki range on July 2, expect a slightly tweaked GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 with a few more bhp and sharper looks. Other than that, it looks like the Hayabusa will be Suzuki's flagship model this year.
