Indian Chief ... 25% more torque than an R1

Here’s the first instalment in a new Indian range of models coming out later this year.

The first model will be the Chief with four variations: Standard, Deluxe, Roadmaster and Vintage. The new bikes will be available to buy by Christmas and capitalise on the firm’s classic heritage with white wall tyres and classic cruiser lines. The prices will start at around £15,000. The 2009 Chief Roadmaster is Indian's touring edition which includes a quick release windscreen, what’s described as a luxury touring seat and leather saddlebags.

Colours are black, Indian red and ivory cream with two-tone combinations including Navajo (isn’t that a type of American Indian? Oh, of course... Indian/Indian... clever) turquoise and winter white. The 1500cc V-twin motor promises 100ftlb of torque.
