Terrible idea.
More info about this can be found on Nottingham Council's website, but the crux of it is that the Council will charge the employer £250 per space. It is apparently up to the employer as to whether they pass this on to the workers or not.......
The main problems surrounding this are that the employer's spaces are, in most cases, on private land which is already being paid for through rent etc.
In addition, the money raised is apparently going to go towards helping Nottingham's public transport system. However, I for one can't find any kind of method built within this proposal which will allow those who utilise the public transport to opt-out of being eligible for the charge (meaning that if you decide to leave the car at home and use the bus/tram you'd still be charged for the parking space which will sit empty for the day at your workplace.....)
