SUSSEX police are appealing to all road users in Sussex after the tenth biker has died on their roads so far this year.

The current fatality rate is double that of the same time last year, even though there have been fewer accidents. So far this year, there have been 18 accidents involving motorcycles, of which 10 have resulted in a fatality. By this time last year, there had been 22 accidents, of which four were fatal.

Inspector Damian Merrifield said: "If you are using the roads of Sussex this weekend or at any time, I urge you to think bike. If you're a motorist, check and double check that your next move isn't going to put a motorcylist or any other road user at risk. If you're a motorcyclist, please do everything that you can to make sure that the family and friends you leave behind in the morning won't be mourning your non-return that night."
