CASEY Stoner, the current MotoGP Championship leader was fastest throughout the opening practice session for this weekend's German MotoGP.
Amazingly, no-one got to within half-a-second of Stoner's fastest time, proving that he's got what it takes, even on the twisty circuits.
The Ducati rider led the way for virtually the entire hour - steadily improving on his initial 1:23.6 benchmark to reach 1:23.058 on his final run.
The opposition was always between six tenths and a full second adrift of Stoner.
Valentino Rossi could only manage a best time of 1:24.30 good enough for eighth place, while his team mate Colin Edwards managed the fourth best time.
