NEWLY CROWNED MotoGP World Champion, Casey Stoner, has escaped going under the surgeon's knife, after crashing heavily in Jerez at a Ducati test session a few weeks ago.
The 22-year-old flew straight back to Australia after the accident and after in-depth medical assessment was told he would not need surgery. However, doctors have insisted Stoner stays off a bike until February, meaning Stoner will miss the next round of scheduled testing at Phillip Island.
