JOHN HOPKINS was the fastest rider in Friday's MotoGP China free practice session.
The Suzuki number-one rider was the 14th fastest through the speed trap, but made up for a lack of straight-line speed with immense corner speed and Hopkins' trademark late-braking.
Hopkins is clearly a fan of this circuit, last year the Anglo-American was on the front row and set the fastest time clocked so far this year with a 2:01.204 lap. The pace is strong, with the top eight separated by just 0.256 seconds.
