TROUBLED Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Morini could be been saved from execution thanks to a businessman from Milan who's willing to invest 2.5 million euros in the company.

Paolo Berlusconi, owner of Garelli motorcycles, and brother of the Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, fought off competition to become the favoured buyer of Morini's manufacturing equipment and assembly plant at Casalecchio di Reno.

The company ceased production of their iconic V-twin motorcycles in December last year.

Berlusconi's offer will now undergo a period of review before plans to resume production can take place later this year.

What could possibly go wrong?

Italy fighting off competition from the Jarmans? I doubt it.

This had better work because the Granpasso is fucking brilliant and it really would be a shame if it disappeared
