Troubled Italian brand bites the dust after months of financial uncertainty
FOLLOWING MONTHS of speculation, Italian marque Moto Morini has stopped motorcycle production and closed its factory doors. The company went into receivership just two months ago, making crafty use of a financial loophole in Italian law to stave off the company's increasing debts. The news comes just weeks after Morini unveiled the BMW GS-styled 2010 Moto Morini Granferro 1200 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. It's expected the Morini will now look for a buyer to take on the sinking (or should that be sunk?) ship.
Visordown called Morini's Italy factory earlier today, but despite several attempts no one answered the phone for comment.

Nobody anserws in Morini because the 8th of December in Italy is a national vacation.
We are all suffering for the bad news coming from Italian company: Moto Morini and MV Agusta. These troubles will translate in more difficulties in the suppliers compartment. Many of them are suppliers of both Morini and Agusta!

Bad news. Always a shame when a manufacturer that's a bit different than the norm goes under.
Although maybe not that bad a shame that their new supermoto might not see the light....?
