Female quad biker found 17 days after going missing feared drowned

POLICE IN Scotland have recovered the body of a woman swept away by a fast-flowing river after she fell from her quad bike.

The force believes Linda Weir, 58, was swept away by the force of a swollen river, near Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway on April 5th.

A police statement confirmed Mrs Weir's body had been recovered from the River Nith on Thursday, 17 days after she went missing.
