RAF helicopter used to search for missing biker in Snowdonia

A MISSING motorcyclist whose disappearance sparked an RAF helicopter search was found dead in Snowdonia it has emerged.

Jonathan Parton, 48, from Telford, Shropshire, was found in the area of the 2560ft (780m) Moel Hebog mountain.

The alarm was raised after he went missing from a hotel in Beddgelert, Gwynedd, on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for the North West Wales Coroner said an inquest had been opened and adjourned.

The spokeswoman said he was found on Saturday.

As well as an RAF helicopter, a dog and handler from the Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) and members of the Aberglaslyn mountain rescue team had been out looking for the man.
