Milan Show: KTM StuntMoto concept

Funky looking Supermoto from those Austrian kings of cool

WE don't know much about this concept bike from KTM, but we thought it was cool enough to share. Delicate-looking wheelie, a single-sided swing-arm, an Alcantara seat and no bulky front fairing. We want one.

I can tell you a few things I know about this bike. I have been asked to build this bike for the virtual world SecondLife. So I have been given some pics and info on it.

The bike shown  in the picture is the only one that has been built. It is designed to be a factory produced stunt bike (the name kind of gives that away). It shares its enginge with the 690 Duke (2008 LC4) but is lower geared for wheelies. The red and black tank under the seat is the fuel tank. The normal looking tank is a dummy, ment for sitting and standing on. The black thing sticking out the back is a U shaped bar for standing on whilst wheelieing. Its has a long extended front axle (not shown in this pic due to the stand holding it up) designed to stand on, like stunt pegs on BMX bikes. It has clutch, front and rear brake levers on the bars (so rear brake can be used by hand when stood on tank or back rail etc) and the bars are used as fluid resevoir so no need for master cylinders. It also has a throttle lock thumb button on either side of bars, so throttle can be locked in place for no-handed stuff. As you would expect from KTM is features Brembo brakes and WP suspention.

I know KTM are interested in public opinion of this bike and may consider producing it if they get a good responce. If anybody reading this knows about Secondlife and would like to see and ride the bike I have built for them just contact me (Bikey Bekkers) in world. If anyboddy else would like to know more about this bike and Secondlife just contact me here.

I hope that helped.

Trumps

Unfortunately, I think loads of red tape would stop that bike ever becoming a relaity in the UK. Shame, because i'd have one.

Can you imagine trying to get insurance?! haha Yeah, it's a stunt bike. And if you intend on only riding it off the road, try finding somewhere you can ride it without getting kicked off by the police.

Yamaha tried this a few years ago, with the Yamaha Air Tricker, but as far as I know, it never made it to these shores.
