The DN01 will appear in Honda UK's 2008 model range

HONDA UK have confirmed their futuristic DN01 cruiser will appear in 2008's model range.

The machine, which appeared on Visordown a couple of months back, features Honda's new HFT (Human Friendly Technology) transmission system. HFT transmission consists of an oil pump for converting engine power into hydraulic pressure, and an oil motor for converting the hydraulic pressure back into power for output. Both are made up of multiple pistons, a distributor valve and a swash plate for piston operation, while the cylinders are integrated into the output shaft.

HFT transmission is standard on the DN01

HFT also features a lockup mechanism for an infinitely variable hydraulic mechanical transmission. When cruising, this lockup mechanism works to improve fuel economy.
