Milan: BMW Lo Rider first pics

Take a look at BMW's new Lo Rider - beautiful, ugly or just plain hideous? What do you think?

THIS IS BMW's new Concept Lo Rider project bike, shown for the first time at the Milan Show.

The machine is powered by the company's ubiquitous Boxer flat-twin engine and has styling that's like nothing else BMW have released.

High or low pipes, different bodywork - choose your design and the guys in Bavaria will create it for you. If they make it that is. BMW are waiting to reaction from buyers to the concept bike before making any firm decisions, so let them know here whether you want it to go into production or not.

Wonderful! What an animal! Love, love, love it!

If I could afford a second bike, this is just the thing I'd go for. It manages to look traditional but different, plain but stylish and it looks cool in a way the Honda DN-01 can only dream of...

And you know being a BM it will likely be bullet proof too.

Very nice...

Looks Lush! i'd consider one of those! Not sure about the headlights, a more traditional one might suit the bike more but i really do like that!!

tufty00
Very cool!! Just make sure it has some balls. please.

Great idea and as 'tufty00' says 'make sure it has some balls... So that means an HP2 Sport spec motor! If you can 'choose the spec' how do we really know what it will look like??? Mine would in Wehrmacht (German Army) grey. I'd ditch those headlights too : they look like something off a Sachs 800.

very nice indeed

I like it too.

Oi, BMW, build it!

I'd have one - it can't be german -  can it?

I wonder how close your legs get to the pipes - especially the left one?  I think I'd go for the low pipes.

I don't like the wheels... they'd be a bastard to keep clean.

manofiran

Doesn't look very comfy, and how would you mount the top box?

Very silly indeed.

Don't like the seat/pipe area. Looks unfinished. But I like the rest of it. Butch.

Looks brilliant.

I agree with 111rd it looks like a Moto Guzzi Griso but in my opinion not as complete and perhaps a bit ugly. However BMW have spent years making great, successful but in some eyes ugly bikes such as the GS series of which i have owned four varities through the years. As an owner of a Griso, i do like the Beemer but will stick with the cheaper and more attractive Guzzi.

WOW, bloody fantastic, a BMW that looks like it would be fun to ride.

Go on BMW, build it........ I dare you. lol

I'd buy one. Love the shaft-drive, so smooth.

go BMW!  After years of me thinking BMWs were for directors getting into biking with more money than sense, they are now releasing designs that look tempting.  It looks great!  Very different, powerful, low and fun!

Will be nice when they finish it. And meccano won't have too much trouble with the 1/16 replica...

Looks like it's gonna be LOUD!!!!! (Well... until EU regulations screw it up). Looks good though. Would love it for a second bike.

Prefer the Griso, there's something about the beemer that doesn't look right to me, and i wouldn't call it a low-rider, it's more of a street-fighter.
