Man jailed over bike theft 'interrogation'

Youth suffers hour-long ordeal after being kidnapped

A MAN has been jailed for a year for helping interrogate a teenager over a stolen motorbike.

Dane Chard was one of four men who kidnapped and assaulted a 17-year-old youth, in an hour-long ordeal, reports Bristol Evening Post.

The men dragged the teenager into a car and interrogated him about a stolen motorbike, Bristol Crown Court heard.

The youth was told he may have his legs broken unless he co-operated. He was later ejected from the vehicle with a black eye, swollen nose and shoe print on his head.

Chard, 21, of Pretoria Road, pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and theft in April.

The Recorder of Bristol Judge Tom Crowther QC told him the offences were so serious that nothing other than a custodial term was justified.
