A 38 YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for shooting at a parked motorcycle that was blocking the end of his drive.
David A. Bauchat told a New Jersey court that when he'd blown a fuse after the motorcycle was left blocking the end of his driveway for several days.
Bauchat grabbed a .45-caliber handgun and shot at the motorcycle. He also hit two other parked vehicles nearby. Bauchat was eventually arrested after a stand-off with police. He was sentenced to six to 23 months in prison for the incident.
"I went way, way over the top using a firearm. I've been around firearms my whole life and never used one in a violent way," Bauchat said. "That whole day, if I could erase it, I would erase it."
Bauchat said that he was celebrating his upcoming wedding and had been drinking alcohol all day when he came home in the evening of July 16, 2006 and became angry over the motorcycle that had been blocking his driveway for at least a week. Since his arrest, Bauchat has been seeing a psychiatrist and is going to counselling.
