Man hides his motorcycle under paddling pool after police chase

Escapes police and then leaves evidence beneath a children's paddling pool

A MAN who fled from police on his motorcycle later tried to hide it under a children’s paddling pool.

According to the charging documents, a police officer from Roy, Washington, saw the motorcycle rider make an illegal turn. When the officer turned on his police siren, the motorcyclist refused to stop, riding off at speeds over 100mph into oncoming traffic.

A police chase was called off out of concern for the safety of a woman who was riding pillion.

However, the same woman was then spotted by a police officer walking down the street later that day. She identified the rider as Guy Sample III.

Police then received a report from a local resident that a motorcycle had been ‘hidden’ under her children’s paddling pool, along with a leather jacket, two helmets and a court document with Sample’s name on it. When officers arrived at the scene they spotted a truck pulling up to the address before making a U-turn and driving away.

Sample III jumped out of the truck and was arrested on charges of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and resisting arrest.
