Long Way Down BMW GS for sale

Fancy owning a bit of cult bike movie history?

ONE OF the three BMW R1200GS Adventures used in the biking documentary 'Long Way Down' is being offered for sale at £9,995.

The show, which starred Hollywood legend Ewan McGregor, along with Charlie Boorman and cameraman Claudio Von Planta, traced the trio on their ride from Scotland to Cape Town.

The GS has covered a little over 14,312 miles and is in the same condition as it was when the horizontally-opposed-flat-twin crossed the finish line in Cape Town: filthy. The current owner says he's not washed it because the appeal of the bike is in its history.

The bike is being sold with Touratech boxes, handguards, screen and other extras, along with the original tank bag, which still has the route map of the journey in the clear sleeve.

The bike, which is being advertised on carandclassic.com has had just one celebrity owner since it was registered in the UK in 2007. The bike is being sold with log book V5 and 12 months MOT.

The advert, however, does not say exactly who rode this particular bike, but there are plenty of mentions of Claudio, the Long Way Round camerman.

Only worth that if it was Ewan's bike , not Charlie or cameramans.

Was Claudio's; Ewan and Charlie's had animal prints on the tank.
