Last call for Norton's Biggest Day

'The Unapproachable Norton' held at Donington Park to celebrate Owners' Club Golden Jubilee

THE PREMIER event of the Norton Owners' Club Golden Jubilee calendar is set to take place on Friday June 19th.

Dubbed ‘The Unapproachable Norton’ the event is a celebration of the iconic British motorcycle, with Nortons on display both on and off track.

The bikes on display range from the 1903 Energette, the rebuilt Rem Fowler 1907 TT winner to the 2009 Norton rotary racer fresh from its TT debut. Spanning the years between these will be a wide range of production models, flat tankers, prototypes, unique machines from the National Motorcycle Museum, together with many race and road specials.

To accompany the bikes will be Norton ‘royalty’ from the golden era and current times, riding and/or talking Nortons, including – Michael Dunlop, Peter Williams, Les Archer, Keith Heckles, Rex Butcher, Norman White, Mick Hemmings and Colin Seeley, with Dave Croxford, John Cooper, Paul Dunstall & others yet to be confirmed as we go to press.

However the hunt for rare and unusual Norton, particularly specials, for which there will be a dedicated display area, is still in progress. If you have such a machine (Norvin, Noriel, etc) that you would like to parade or display please contact us. The closing date for entries is June 5 and track time for road or race bikes is going fast.

In addition to the track and demonstration arena events there will be non-Norton attractions for the kids & plus a celebration party on Friday night. On Saturday, don’t forget the NOC's annual Norton Day and the CRMC classic racing.

If that isn’t enough excitement, Rust Racing will be demonstrating their rotary engine sidecar outfit and will raffle a ride in the sidecar for an ‘excursion’ round Donington, never to be forgotten!
