RIDDEN by Kenny Roberts at Laguna Seca in some demonstration laps, the red and white one-of-a-kind Yamaha YZF-R1 raised $87,000 (approx £52,000) for charity.

Special guest auctioneers at the Mecum Motorcycle Auction were Kenny Roberts himself, along with TV personality Jay Leno, the proceeds for the auction go directly to Bailey's Cafe, a school of the arts that brings youths and elders together in the Bronx.

King Kenny was flattered by the bidding, commenting: "I'm kinda surprised that someone would pay for a bike that I sat my butt on and worked the rear tire on pretty good. But, it was for a good cause, and Milton really came through for Bailey's Cafe."

Leno added: "That was a lot of fun hanging out with Kenny, and I'm excited for the kids at Bailey's Cafe in Brooklyn. That winning bid from Milton is going to buy a lot of supplies!"
