First electric-powered bike to run seven-second quarter

THE KILLACYCLE made drag racing history at Pomona, USA, this weekend when it became the first electric-powered vehicle to run seven seconds for the 1/4 mile. The machine was piloted by expert drag racer, Scotty Pollacheck.

The machine delivers 500hp from 186 lbs of A123 Systems Nanophosphate cells. It's amazing when you think there's no gas, no blower and no nitrous.

The machine almost lived up to its name when it was crashed a couple of months ago by one of its creators, while he was trying to do a burnout for publicity in a shopping mall car park. See the frightening footage below:
