THE WIFE of Kawasaki World Superbike team boss Paul Bird became the victim of vicious thugs last week, after two men broke into the Cumbrian millionaire's house.
Police say Bird's wife, Lindsey, 31, had bleach poured over her hands after raiders broke into their home, in Langwathby, near Penrith. It's reported the men entered the house between 7pm and 9pm when Bird's wife was alone with the couple’s baby daughter.
The burglars made off with cash and jewellery, leaving Mrs Bird needing hospital treatment. The couple's baby daughter was unhurt in the raid.
Police believe one of the intruders had a Polish accent and the other had a Liverpool accent.
