KAWASAKI is to transfer production of some of its medium and large-sized motorcycles from Japan to Thailand starting in 2010.

The decision has been made because of cheaper labour costs, according to a report by financial experts Bloomberg.

The company's tactic would mean Kawasaki would be the first Japanese company to move large motorcycle manufacturing to an emerging country.

Honda is also considering shifting the production of medium-sized motorcycles to Thailand from Japan.
