Visordown Motorcycle News £5 million's a lot to anyone, especially a Scot
STAR WARS Supremo, Ewan McGregor, reckons his round-the-world rides have cost him £5m in lost work.

But even though the star's adventures have cost him dear, the Scot isn't going to stop doing what he loves most.

McGregor, 36, and professional mate Charley Boorman first found fame as bikers in the popular Long Way Round and more recently in Long Way Down.

Speaking to a Showbiz reporter, McGregor said: “My agent might draw in his breath when I tell him I would like to do another one because it’s four to five months out of the game but this is what life is all about."

Don't be so heartless.

The poor wee lad's probably down to his last 20 million or so.

Some people have no sympathy, I'm disgusted.

Yea I know how he feels, feeling the pinch myself

Basically he is saying stuff the money and live life!  Good for him, at least he has his priorities right in that sense.  Not that money is much of an issue anyhow, but the ethos is right.

He'll have to turn to the dark side for a few quid

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 10:40

he should get a claim in

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 10:42

and I wonder how much he has made from the books, DVDs & TV rights?

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 10:43

^^^^^^^£21.73 at a guess

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 10:47

probably just saying thats the extra he would have earned doing films etc rather than tooling around on bikes!

not a bit jealous though!!

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 11:28

fair play to him really for doing it.....wish i had the money and the time

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 11:34

way off harry , probably much nearer to £22

Posted: 21/01/2008 at 11:40

....and I bet he didn't use any of his own money either, probably had all expenses paid and 24hr help, crew on hand, all the admin sorted, shown on prime time TV,  and not to mention the money he made from the DVD,  book, advertising, endorsements and numerous interviews..............................He's a very lucky man,  so shouldn't complain, cos many people would love to have that opportunity but never will!!!!!!!!!!!

So does mine. Surely he gets some return on the videos, DVDs, books and TV repeats.

Surely he must have been paid at least £5 million for those woeful cringeworthy Davidoff ads?  Any less and it seriously wasn't worth it.

Anyone that is self employed or paid on a daily rate will lose potential income when they go on holiday.  Not everyone is in as fortunate position as Ewan to start with.
