Industry Eye: Brembo profits up by 87%

Original equipment demand boosts sales, say company

LEADING ITALIAN motorcycle brake component manufacturer Brembo,incidentally the world's largest manufacturer of disc brakes, saysits net profit in the third financial quarter of 2007 to 30 Septembergrew by a stunning 87 per cent to £8.8m.

The company attributed its good fortune to booming sales of original-equipment parts for commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

During this three-month period, Brembo's sales revenue increased by17 per cent to £154m.
