Honda top 2011 Q1 sales Chart

Sales figures for 2011 Q1 reveal Honda, Yamaha and Triumph in the top three

THE motorcycle sales figures for the first quarter of 2011 have been released by the Motorcycle Industry Association.

Honda heads up the chart selling 3913 units in the opening quarter, followed by Yamaha in second place with 2518 and Triumph ranked third in the table with 1913.

Even though they lead the 2011 charts Honda are still down 9% on 2009's sales and are joined by Yamaha, who have also had a drop in sales over the past two years. However, Triumph have shown an increase in sales, up 25% when compared to 2009.

Piaggio - who only sell scooters - are in seventh place ahead of Harley-Davidson and KTM, with Ducati rounding out the top ten.
