HARLEY-DAVIDSON is offering employees laid off after the recent reshuffle at the company's York plant the chance to work as casual employees.
Reports in the American media say the casual work force of 200-300 former full-time employees would be called upon on when work is available. It's believed, the employees will be paid $16.75 per hour (£10.30) with no additional benefits.
Last month, Visordown reported the news that Harley is to cut the plant's workforce by almost 1,000 employees in 2010.
