HARLEY-DAVIDSON is reportedly looking to banish its recent financial troubles in the States by buying the controlling share of Italian exotica marque MV Agusta.
According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the American firm is deep in talks with both MV and its major debt-holder Intesa Sanpaolo.
Intesa Sanpaolo holds around £75m of MV's worth. According to the report, if Harley is successful the deal would cancel around 35 percent of MV's debt and give the American company an 80 percent stake in the company that has recently been chucking out high-priced, high-specced exotica like it's going out of fashion.
Anyone want to work out what a Harley/MV sportsbike or cruiser would look like?
