A red 883 Sportster becomes Harley's 1,000,000 bike

DESPITE THEIR current financial woes, Harley-Davidson still had cause for celebration recently when machine number one million rolled off the production line.

The honours went to a Red Hot Sunglo Sportster 883L, at the Harley-Davidson Kansas City Vehicle and Powertrain Operations. Not a top-end Harley then? No, but the Sportster's revered as the bike that saved Harley's bacon, when sales were at an all-time low and the company needed an affordable bike to appeal to a wider audience

The Sportster joined Harley Davidson's Dark Custom line-up in January in the shape of the Iron 883.

You'd think they'd be able to get it right by now.

It's wrong information. H-D makes about 350 000 bikes a year and has a 105-year history. It's impossible to make a 1-millionth bike in 2009 for it
