Harley-Davidson announce UK price increase

If you're considering buying a Harley then act now, as the prices will go up on May 1st 2009

HARLEY-DAVIDSON has announced the company is to implement a UK price increase, which will take effect on May 1, 2009.

Harley can't confirm exactly how much their products will rise by, saying they will release figures at a later date. Either way, it's unwelcome news, especially considering the downward turn in bike sales over the last few months. The move can do nothing to boost Harley's already dwindling sales.

'We will work hard to ensure that the necessary price increase still leaves Harley-Davidson motorcycles competitive and affordable in the current UK market place,' said Harley-Davidson marketing manager Greg Willis.

Of course you have, if anyone on here tells you different? Just ask if they actually OWN or RIDE a bike?

Because half the Fuckers on here are PAVEMENT BIKERS

Having been riding bikes for over forty years and had Harleys (and others) for the last seventeen years, nobody is going to upset me by having a dig (jokingly or otherwise) about having a HD. If you want to have dig, carry on, I'll join in the humour, but I know the lifestyle that comes with a Harley far outweighs the buzz other folks get by zooming round with their bums in the air dodging the Gatsos and Plod. Each to their own. Enjoy what you like, and I'll enjoy what I like.

HDrider, you enjoy your bike mate, I have a couple of bikes, one entails my arse in the air dodging Gatsos, but I am a firm believer a bike is a bike and everyone to their own. I don't know why some people have to turn their noses up at someones elses choice of bike, f em ! Enjoy yourself and I wish you many happy hours riding your bike and the lifestyle that goes with it. Best of luck.

i admired one of those new Harley's they are planning to race this year at selected BSb rounds looked quite nice

2 wheels is 2 wheels, so no smart arse comments from me enjoy your new steed

Why all defensive peeps?

A bike is a bike is a bike. Each to their own.

If you can't take a bit of good natured ribbing then perhaps you need to find a new hobby.

Quite, spelling police correct now.

I test rode one of those XR1200's at our local HD dealer and was very pleasantly surprised by it. I rode the 1200 buell first and it was horrible then I rode the harley and what a difference! Twas actually a great ride and the only thing I didn't like about it was the position of my feet(straight down, 1980's stylee!). It was in a different league (quality-wise) to the Buell.

not a patch on a speed triple though

I quite like the look of those XR1200's TBH. Sad I know. But true.

In fact, at Coalville there was a nice CB750 chopper turned up and I liked that too.

I am quite open in my opinions about bikes and, having owned so many different styles through the years, have no real preference for one style over another. The fact that I currently ride a large sportsbike may suggest otherwise, but I also own an old Z550 Unitrack and would sell one of my kids for an original Z1. I also wouldn't be too upset if an Old Brough Superior somehow found it's way into my garage. So if someone else likes Harleys then I have no axe to grind with them. I just don't really understand why they get all defensive when someone aims a little gentle ribbing in their direction. FFS we sportsbike riders have to put up with far worse than that. Check out the thread on chickenstrips.

An age related thing Rob? I for one would like to see a whole grid of those XR1200's racing for the first corner at a BSB meeting.
