Flame-throwing scooter inventor under arrest

Colin Furze's latest stunt backfires, as eccentric inventor is arrested on firearms offences

A LINCOLNSHIRE inventor who built a flame-throwing scooter, seen on Visordown last week, has been arrested by Lincolnshire Police, on suspicion of committing firemarms offences, Visordown can reveal.

Colin Furze, 30, from Stamford, Lincolnshire, was arrested after he appeared in the national and local press riding his flame-throwing scooter on public roads, complete with 15ft flames shooting from the rear end.

Mr Furze, whose other notable stunts include building and riding the world's longest motorcycle, was taken to Spalding Police station on Friday evening.
